JPL was established in 2004 when husband and wife team Jon and Hazel Lishak took their first business risk – establishing a successful accountancy practice on their own, with the support of a handful of key clients. Since then, the business has evolved with JPL acquiring more than just accountancy experience along the way. The client portfolio has grown, mainly by referrals, and the business is set for continued growth in the future.
Our clients operate in a wide range of industries including construction, retail, pharmaceutical, wholesale and distribution, property, leisure, entertainment and travel. We act for a large number of professionals and self-employed individuals and not-for-profit organisations.
The Partners
Jon Lishak
Jon is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Having graduated from UMIST as a Chemical Engineer, he then trained with a well established firm in London’s West End qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1989.
Jon became a partner in a three partner practice in North London in 1999. He left to form JPL with his wife, Hazel, in September 2004.
Away from his desk Jon is undoubtedly a “sportaholic”. Whether it’s running his son’s under-10 football team, playing weekly 6-a-side or celebrating/bemoaning the fortunes of his beloved Spurs, Jon has a passion for football. A keen cricketer in his younger days Jon is also an avid follower of athletics, rugby, American football and the list goes on.
Hazel Lishak
Hazel’s background is in the world of insurance. Before becoming a qualified Independent Financial Adviser, she passed numerous insurance and taxation exams and was the Compliance Officer and Senior Compliance Manager of a large insurance company. Hazel has responsibility for the personal tax, company secretarial and payroll services provided by the firm. All of this is in addition to being mum to two boisterous and active schoolboys.
